Miracles and Trials

Dear loved ones,
Happy Birthday, Dad! And also, it's my two month mark!!!! :D
Well! This week has been an interesting one. First of all, I just wanted to say thank you all for the support you have given me and for writing me and making me feel loved and filling me in on your lives :) On Tuesday something incredible happened! We were out tracting and just knocking on doors. We got to our last door for the afternoon and the lady opened it and let us right in! She said that she was a member! We had never heard of her or seen her on records or anything. But she is less-active and her husband is not a member. She said that she hasn't been to church in a few years. She felt shunned and rejected because of a baby she had, but had expressed how she had talked with her husband and said she wants to raise their kids in the gospel. He seemed open and very kind. I was just shocked after we left! We had no idea they lived there, and we were able to talk with them and tell them where the church is located. What a miracle, I thought!!

Scott came and did a chapel tour, and we also taught him on facebook. Susanne is not speaking or moving much, so any day now she will pass away. It's been hard for him. So we went to check on him and knocked on his door, and there was... a new family there! He moved and didn't even tell us! We have no idea where he is living now. We haven't talked to him since this discovery, but he probably is out of our area now and we won't be teaching him anymore. :(

Morgan is getting baptized on the 7th!! This past week we taught her the Law of Chastity, the Plan of Salvation, and Tithing. She is so excited! We are too :) She also received a priesthood blessing the other day and a blessing on her home. It was such a sweet experience. Another miracle we saw was that on Thursday we were at the church, facebooking, and we were calling people looking for someone to come with us to our lesson with Morgan. No one was available!! I asked Morgan if she could meet at the church instead of her house and she agreed. But we had to ride home to eat dinner first! So we started heading out so we could ride our bikes home and there was the Howell family! They had come to clean the church, even though it's usually done Saturdays, and they had just brought dinner with them! They offered to feed us, and we offered if they would like to stay for a lesson! And it worked out so perfectly. They were the perfect fellowshippers for her, and it was a really great lesson for Morgan.

Now for the trial of the week- Yesterday we found out that the map at our apartment that we thought was the ward boundaries is actually wrong. While at the church we were looking at the ward boundaries with the Relief Society president and saw that the lines were different, and they cut right through the places we have investigators. So the less-active/part member family that we met is probably not in our boundaires. As well as 2 or 3 of our other investigators. The ward boundary cuts right through an apartment complex, so some of the buildings are in the ward and some are out. So we have to turn over our investigators to the missionaries in that area. It's going to be challenging for sure! We were really getting going with the work here, and now we kind of have to start over in some regards. Morgan is out of our boundaries too, but we were told by our leaders that we should continue teaching her because she has already made ties to the ward here. Anyway, I have clung to the fact that I have seen how the Lord works in my life and I know that no trial lasts forever :) We are promised that we will be able to find people that are ready to hear the gospel, and I know that that is no different for Colfax :) We have no idea what we are going to do, but I know that things will work out, and that we are blessed for following the rules and doing what's right! :)

Thank you SOOOO much for the support! For the letters and for the prayers :) I definitely feel them!!! Also, my P-day will not be this Monday because of Labor Day. It will be on Tuesday next week!

Love y'all!

Sister Adams
